Who Picks?, 2023

Archival Inkjet Prints, Wood Pallets, Wheat Paste

Who Picks? Is an exploration of the visual culture surrounding California’s citrus history. The work features found images collected from California archives of Agriculture Documentation and fruit packaging labels of the mid 20th century. The summoning of these differing images work to explore themes of class labor, historiography, colonialism, and racial inequality.
