Beach Balls, Spray Paint, & Googly Eyes
Site for Sore Eyes is a sculptural installation about growth indicated by the variety of scale in the materials and its relation to the tree the work is connected to. The Painted inflatable balls and their googly eyes represent fruit growing larger and further from the tree they came from which is symbolic of an increasingly disjointed relationship between parent and child.
Mike Sutch
Mike Sutch is an artist, photographer, and filmmaker from southern California. His creative work is inspired by personal experiences and relationships, movies, and nostalgia. Sutch’s work often carries emotions of guilt and alienation from being raised in a conservative christian home and reveal his experiences with anxiety and depression.
